If you haven’t had the chance to attend one of the parties that took place on and around it – from the Serpentine Summer Party hosted by L’Wren Scott, to the COS party designed to launch the Park Nights series – the sunny and warm weather still gives you no excuses not to have a walk in this year’s amazing Serpentine Gallery Pavilion. Japanese architect Sou Fujimoto has designed an impressive white structure that occupies 350 square-meters of lawn in front of the Serpentine Gallery. Playing with transparence and light, Sou Fujimoto, whose work has always been inspired by organic forms, has recreated a space that is delicately and naturally integrated into the existing environment. The architect talks about “a new form of environment (…), where the natural and the man-made merge; not solely architectural nor solely natural, but a unique meeting of the two”. If the promise of this unique experience isn’t enough, you’ll also find inside the Pavilion a very nice café where you’ll be able to sit and fully enjoy the moment. You have until 20 October 2013 to explore and take over The Serpentine Gallery Pavilion’s different parts.
